The 1st Annual Swingin’ at the Shell concerts took place in the summer of 2004. These six concerts consisted of a large variety of music making the 1st season an instant hit! The six groups that took the stage were.
Blend– contemporary rock/ fun
Bugs Beddow Band– horn-driven blues
Duende Jazz Trio– eclectic blues/jazz, including gypsy and New Orleans- inspired tunes
Organissimo– blues with organ, swinging drums and punchy sax
Soltura– Classic Salsa with inventive Latin re-inventions of rock & roll and Motown classics
Michael Zaporski and Futervisions– contemporary jazz performers featured at the Ford Detroit International Jazz Festival
These six groups set the stage for a wonderful future to the Swingin’ at the Shell summer concert series.
