The Founding July 29

When you think of the hundreds of sample recordings that have been referred to our board of directors over the years, it’s not hard to imagine how difficult it is to make an impression.  One group that stopped us in our tracks was the Midwest-based group called The Founding, a six-piece “progressive Celtic” band that mesmerized us with the intricate composition of their music and their powerful approach to songwriting.

First, there’s the shear technical ability of these multi-instrument musicians that hooks your ear, followed by the beautiful and unabashed confidence of the lead singer’s voice which quickly reels you in. Take five and check out the music on their website or their YouTube channel. You won’t regret it. In fact, it will probably give you a strong desire to check them out live — and we know just the place to do it!

With a busy touring schedule, The Founding performs all around the United States for Celtic music festivals, concert series like Swingin’ at the Shell, private shows, and other performance venues and festivals. The band has received press coverage in USA Today,, Local Spins, WMUK, and the Western Herald, and their music can be heard on various radio stations and podcasts nationwide. It’s no wonder why we are so honored and excited to have them perform at our venue this year.

Marshall Rotary Band July 22

Between the costs, the time and the travel challenges, traditional concert band performances are becoming a scarcity. Despite these obstacles, the talented Marshall Rotary Band keeps going strong, and they’re ready to strike up a tune at this year’s summer concert series.

You’ll soon be clapping your hands to crowd favorites, including show tune medleys, marches, ragtime, Dixieland, and traditional concert band pieces. The band puts on six concerts each year, including a performance in Albion to kick off our summer series.  Don’t miss these talented musicians as they wrap up their series of concerts by putting our concert series in full swing. It’s that time again to Think Music Think Albion™.
