About - Swingin at the Shell

Swingin’ at the Shell is a Caster Cares^TM initiative that was created because of a passion for live music, the Albion community, and the Victory Park Bandshell. Our mission is to provide a variety of family-friendly musical entertainment to the community of Albion and the surrounding area and be good stewards of the Victory Park BandShell. With this mission in mind Swingin’ at the Shell hosted its first series in the summer of 2004.

Since 2004 we have hosted over 120 free concerts at the Victory Park Bandshell thanks to our dedicated Board of Directors, generous corporate and foundation sponsors, and the support of the City of Albion. With this continued support, we have been able to bring life to the stage of the bandshell for sixteen summers and counting.

Stephanie Dobbins

President of the Board

A Ferris State University graduate and current Albion resident, Stephanie is Vice President of Mitchell Golf Company in Albion Michigan and serves as the president of Swingin’ at the Shell. Stephanie is the mother of two children and cares deeply about the future of Albion.

Bill Dobbins, Lifelong resident of the Albion area and graduate of Albion College (Class of 1974), Dr. Dobbins practiced family medicine in the Albion/Marshall area for 25 years and has been President of Caster Concepts, Inc. and seven other associated business units in four locations since 1997. He married Karen, also alum of Albion College, …

Emily Verbeke

Treasurer of the Board

An Albion College and University of Denver graduate, Emily has a long career as a school psychologist and as a small business owner. Emily and her family reside in Albion where Emily operates the Foundry Bakehouse and Deli. Emily serves as co-chair of the Albion Downtown Development Authority and Race Director for Run Albion.

Caroline Hurteau

Secretary of the Board

An Albion College graduate, Caroline serves as Community Liaison at Caster Concepts and Executive Director of INNOVATE Albion. Through her work she is connected to many projects and supports a thriving Albion community.
